Roof Damage & Leak Clean-up Services in Dallas, TX
In the aftermath of the storm, water damage can extend beyond a building's walls.
In the above picture, moisture has soaked through the roof and extended beyond the roof itself, as SERVPRO of Dallas discovered when they responded to a call for help at a local residential property. As the photo shows, water damage has caused some roof sections to collapse, leaving debris on the ground.
If left alone, this damage can be very costly. Water that gets into a roof can soak up through the ceiling and settle in other places causing discoloration on walls and ceilings and odors throughout the property. The water can also cause rot to form around the base of walls and inside sheathing, leading to further structural damage.
SERVPRO of Dallas responded quickly to the residential property and removed water that had settled into a section of the ceiling. The crew then pulled down several sections of sheathing, exposing further damage from water infiltration. Then they removed and disposed of wet insulation and drywall, which were not salvageable. Finally, to protect the property, the crew installed tarping around vulnerable areas to prevent further damage.
The ceiling was restored to its original condition, and the walls were repaired with drywall. The insulation was replaced, completing the job (Picture taken after restoration).
